Kenya Space Agency Joins India in Celebrating ITEC Day 2025

On March 24, 2025, the Director General of the Kenya Space Agency (KSA), Brig. Hillary Kipkosgey, joined H.E. Namgya Khampa, the High Commissioner of India to Kenya, in celebrating this year’s Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day at Trademark Hotel, Nairobi. The event brought together ITEC alumni from various government ministries, departments, and agencies.

ITEC was instituted in 1964 as a capacity building program administered by the Development Partnership Administration-II Division of the Ministry under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. ITEC program has trained officials from over 160 countries in both the civilian and in the defence sector.

During the event, the DG participated in a panel discussion on "Empowering Leaders & Building Nations through ITEC," where he highlighted the training KSA received through the program on Remote Sensing and GIS for Agricultural Informatics at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) in Dehradun. The training has strengthened KSA’s capacity to collaborate with county governments in applying GIS technology to enhance the use of space-derived data for decision-support in agriculture.
